Outlining the rough shape has started

Enlarging a design fortunately is no hocus-pocus. I made the model to a scale of 1 at 4, so it's just a matter of taking a size with compasses, and transfer that size onto the piece of stone four times . A lot of measurements later, you'll already be able to recognize the first curls of the ferns.
