Padukas: lotus and polishing
After having copied measuring lots of points and some other works in between I continued with shaping the paduka's in black granite. On the feet, I added the symbols of Vishnu: the conch, the disc and lotus flowers. On the profile on the side the lotus motif will return, and that's what I am carving now, sanding and polishing.
Once again it's a lot of manual work, because the sanding head of the machine is too large for all those little curves. Luckily I once, long ago, bought a few sets of toothbrush like things with diamond on it, that now come in very handy (see photo). I also have all kinds of diamond files and graters, and tapas picks with a piece of diamond sheet glued to them. Will be just fine!
