Another coat-of-arms

This week I started the next project, another coat-of-arms this time. In this case, the crest must be carved completely open. I started with cutting the contours. Then I first addressed the helmet, so I can see how the other parts relate to that in depth and shape.

Below the shield I temporarily left a strip of stone standing, so that the piece can stand upright. Once the stone's finished I will cut that off. More information about the parts of a coat of arms you'll read here.
